Event Details

With small budgets and high hopes, not-for-profits and social cause businesses are looking to social media to jump-start their movements. The good news is that we're seeing an increasing number of remarkable web and social media campaigns that are successfully spreading reach and achieving goals.

In this session, Darren and Julie will cover key methods they use to design a social media program focused on growing a community and igniting a movement. They will also share some of their favorite social media marketing campaigns of the year as a source of inspiration for your work on the web.

Partners Darren Barefoot and Julie Szabo are the principals of Capulet Communications, a Vancouver based web marketing firm. They've been helping global not-for-profits, national brands and businesses develop their Web marketing strategies since 2003. Darren and Julie speak regularly as experts about Web PR and social media marketing and have been featured on the CBC, BBC and in Wired, the Wall Street Journal and dozens of other publications. They're also the authors of “Friends with Benefits: A Social Media Marketing Handbook“.
